Gambling Casinos Bonus Wagering Requirements Explained

Bonus Wagering Requirements Explained

A casino bonus rarely comes without conditions. The most important of them is the wagering requirement: the amount a player must bet before bonus money, or winnings made with it, can be withdrawn. Understanding how the requirement is calculated is the difference between a useful offer and a frustrating one.

The multiplier

Requirements are written as a multiple of the bonus, for example 30x. A 100 dollar bonus at 30x means 3,000 dollars has to be wagered in total. Some operators apply the multiplier to the deposit plus the bonus, which doubles the figure, so the wording of the terms matters as much as the number.

Game contributions

Not every game counts equally. Slots usually contribute 100 percent of each bet toward the requirement, while table games and live dealer games often count for 10 percent or nothing at all. A player who prefers blackjack may find that clearing a slot-oriented bonus takes ten times longer than the headline number suggests.

Time limits and maximum bets

Bonuses expire, typically within seven to thirty days, and any unmet requirement at that point cancels the bonus and its winnings. Most offers also cap the bet size while a bonus is active; exceeding it can void the bonus entirely. In Ontario, regulated operators must present these terms clearly before the player accepts an offer.

Reading the contribution table and the expiry date before opting in is the simplest way to judge whether a bonus is worth taking.
